School Holiday Program at BNWPS
The OSHC School Program established in 2024 provides care to BNWPS students during the autumn (March/April), winter (June/July) and, spring (September/October) school holidays of each year.

What we provide:
The OSHC Holiday program provides a safe and fun environment for all children in our school community. The School Holiday Program provides incursions and excursions based on children’s needs and interests, as well as many fun activities such as Cooking Club, science experiments, outdoor activities, arts and crafts, and more.

Communication
We DO NOT check the regular OSHC email or Bernadetta’s email during the OSHC program. This is to minimise the administrative load placed on the educators running the program. Therefore, will only monitor the school holiday program email, and all communication regarding bookings, cancellations, or any school holiday-related matters at all will come from, and should be sent to the holiday program email: oshcholiday@brunswicknwps.vic.edu.au

FAQs
Food: Unlike at OSHC, we DO NOT provide snack time or meals at the School Holiday Program. This is because we are not able to allocate an additional staff member to prepare and clean up food during the program.
We do run the Cooking Club activity several days per week, where each child is able to prepare and eat an item such as e.g., apple turnover or pizza.
Please ensure that you pack enough food for your child for each day. It is a long day so ensure they have a proper meal and plenty of snacks, plus a water bottle.
Eating times There are three eating times within the program, and children are free to go to their bags and eat from their lunch box at any time. Unless there are any changes due to incursions/excursions schedule, mealtimes are offered at:
Note 1: With helpful feedback from parents/guardians following the April & July programs we have decided to make mealtimes communal and compulsory. This means that all children will sit together while actively supervised by educators to ensure each child eats as they need.
What time to arrive: Incursions typically begin around 9:30 and we typically leave for excursions at 10 am. For this reason, please ensure your child arrives by 9/9:30 so that they are present for the roll call.
If you want to drop your child off after 10 am, please let us know as we will otherwise mark them absent. On excursion days however they must arrive BEFORE 9:30.
Cancellations: To avoid a cancellation fee, your booking must be cancelled with 4 weeks notice. Cancellations made later than this will typically incur the full fee.
This is because incursion/excursion bookings and staff allocation are made depending on the number of children booked in weeks prior to the program’s commencement.
Waitlist: If you miss out on receiving a booking for your child/ren, you will be placed on the waitlist at your request. If there are cancellations, we can contact you either before or on the day of your requested booking to inform you that your child/ren may attend.
